Determined to recruit a new central defender, PSG could secure the services of a crack of the English championship.
Paris Saint-Germain have been looking for a new defender since the appointment of Luis Campos as the club’s sporting adviser last June. The priority track was the Slovak defender of Inter Milan, Milan Skriniar, but this transfer was ultimately unsuccessful. The Parisians have thus multiplied the avenues to strengthen a sector which is considered fragile by Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos. This week, PSG would have reactivated the track of the French international hope, Mohamed Simakan. The defender of Leipzig is part of the list of potential targets of Paris Saint-Germain to strengthen the central defense this winter.
According to information from CBS Sports, the capital club would also have returned to the charge for William Saliba. The French international who will play his first World Cup with the France team impresses for his first real season with Arsenal. The former OM defender is under contract until 2024 with the Gunners and discussions for an extension have started. PSG would like to interfere in these negotiations to convince William Saliba not to extend and oblige Arsenal for sale this summer.
PSG Mercato: Paris SG continues to prepare for the future
the Paris Saint Germain started a new cycle with the extension of Kylian Mbappé in May. The Parisians have taken the decision to rejuvenate their workforce to start on new bases. Idrissa Gueye (32), Ander Herrera (33) and Georginio Wijnaldum (31) left, while Vitinha (22), Renato Sanches (25), Carlos Soler (25) signed for PSG. Interest in Mohamed Simakan (22) and William Saliba (21) shows that Paris SG wants to pursue this strategy. The objective is to rely on a new generation capable of bringing the club from the capital to the top of world football.
