Pirelli, Formula 1’s sole tire manufacturer, has revealed its tire choices for the Belgian, Dutch and Italian Grands Prix which will be held in September just after F1’s summer break.
If the Hungarian Grand Prix won by Max Verstappen this Sunday, July 31 marked the start of a three-week break in Formula 1 (the traditional summer break), the premier category of motorsport will return to school on the hats of wheel at the end of August with no less than three Grands Prix contested in the space of three weeks (a triple header).
For the Belgian Grand Prix which will be contested during the last weekend of August, Pirelli has chosen to provide the teams with C2, C3 and C4 compounds, i.e. tires located in the middle of the spectrum.
For the Dutch Grand Prix which will be contested a week after Belgium on the Zandvoort track, Pirelli has chosen C1, C2 and C3 compounds, i.e. tires that are a little harder than for the Belgian Grand Prix.
Finally, for the Italian Grand Prix which will be contested a week after the Netherlands on the very fast track of Monza, Pirelli has chosen the C2, C3 and C4, the same choice as for the Belgian Grand Prix.
