In the NASCAR Cup Series it is finally Tyler Reddick who signs the pole at Indy will share the first row with the winner of the DAYTONA 500, the rookie Austin Cindric.
During the second phase of qualifying, Tyler Reddick set a lap in 88.354 seconds at an average of 99.378 mph to claim pole at Indy in the NASCAR Cup Series. The Richard Childress Racing driver is ahead of rookie Austin Cindric. Chase Briscoe and Christopher Bell will be on the second line.
Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Michael McDowell, Chase Elliott, Todd Gilliland and Kyle Busch complete the top 10 of this qualifying session.
During the first part of qualifying, Chase Briscoe was the fastest in the first group, while Tyler Reddick set the fastest time in the second group.
Title holder of this race, AJ Allmendinger only set the twentieth time. Apart from Chase Elliott, Hendrick Motorsports missed out on this qualifying session. Kyle Larson sets the twenty-second time, just ahead of William Byron. Alex Bowman is only twenty-eighth.
Just crowned with a contract extension with Petty GMS Racing, Erik Jones is only thirty-fifth. Only Daniil Kvyat, Josh Williams and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are behind.
